The aircraft is owned by the individual, while Aviation Ape is responsible for marketing the aircraft, introducing qualified, well trained pilots, managing all financial transactions, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring the aircraft meets all regulatory
requirements.

Leaseback Options

Buy - Lease

You find the aircraft and present the acquisition opportunity to us. We evaluate the market pricing and purchase logistics. You perform the pre-buy inspection and we transact the purchase towards leasing it back to you at a flat monthly rate.

Sale - Leaseback

You sell us your owned or financed aircraft and we'll lease it back to you at a flat monthly rate. This frees up working capital to allow you to pursue other goals since you money isn't tied up in your fleet.

When to consider a leaseback?

Although situations vary, here are some scenarios where you may want to consider putting your airplane on leaseback.

Leaseback Breakdown

A leaseback is essentially a marketing agreement. Aviation Ape serves as the asset manager. You still own your airplane, while Aviation Ape handles marketing the airplane, introducing highly trained pilots, managing all financial transactions, and maintaining the aircraft under pristine conditions and regulatory requirements.

Why leaseback with Aviation Ape?

Aviation Ape is an aircraft leasing and management company that specializes in managing airplanes for flight clubs and schools. Our commitment to excellence ensures that your aircraft will be in the best hands.

If you’ve been considering an aircraft leaseback, you may have heard some of the horror stories regarding corrupt FBOs, idle airplanes, and absurd maintenance charges. Here at Aviation Ape, we set ourselves apart from that. We operate with the highest standard of integrity, and we’ve established our reputation to be one of dedication, transparency, and excellence. Aviation Ape ensures the highest level of maintenance at the lowest costs around.

So, how does a leaseback work?

A leaseback is a management agreement involving your aircraft. You provide Aviation Ape with your airplane while we collect the revenue, pay the expenses, and send you a check when revenue exceeds expenses. We send you a bill if expenses exceed revenue.

You won’t have to worry about the hassles of aircraft ownership, as we’ll handle everything for you. We charge a modest management fee for our services, which is deducted from the revenue like all other expenses.

Results vary, but typically our aircraft owners receive around $1,500 a month. Some owners receive two or three times that amount, but there are some occasional exceptions. Not all airplanes fly as much as others, and some aircrafts have maintenance issues that lead to extended down times and high maintenance bills.

We encourage aircraft owners to set aside part of their profits to cover any unexpected maintenance issues that may arise, as well as predictable maintenance expenses like engine overhauls.

Pros and Cons of a
leaseback

A leaseback is not for everyone, as it is a highly variable investment. This is a decision that must be reflected upon carefully.

Pros

We track the financial performance of each of our aircraft, and keep detailed data to help aircraft owners make informed decisions. If you are considering a leaseback, contact us for more details. We’ll help you predict the revenue, expense, and overall performance of your airplane. We can also assist in purchasing the right aircraft and manage the rental rate to maximize your profits. Here at Aviation Ape, we cannot be successful unless our aircraft owners are successful.
